In 1988 our family began welcoming visitors to the Smokies.  We lived in a little log cabin on a 30 acre farm and knew the peace we felt there was contagious.  Fourteen years later thousands of guests have visited our hideaway cabins, relaxed in our jacuzzis, sizzled steaks on our grills, and rethought their values in front of log fires.

     One of the questions asked most often of our Guests coming to be married in the Smokies was "Would you please arrange our wedding?"  In 1996 we began by offering "Promises of the Heart" ceremonies at our historic bed and breakfast, Evergreen Cottage Inn, in Pigeon Forge.  We offered an indoor service by the river rock fireplace, or an outdoor service in our private garden.  Both were wonderfully successful, heartwarming experiences for our staff and our Guests, and whisking them away to their honeymoon cabins made the picture perfect.

     Beginning this millennium,  we now offer wedding ceremonies for every budget, but all touched with the same simplicity that draws you to the mountains.  A touch of mist from a rushing stream, a breeze fresh from the hills around us, your hearts open with love and commitment -- you, dealing all these majestic things, make your perfect memory!

     In Gatlinburg,  $199 includes minister and 20 photos.  Sweet and simple!  This price assumes you honeymoon at one of our 'Love Tub' cabins.  Our wedding special including two nights lodging with a wood-burning fireplace, 'Love Tub' jacuzzi, kitchen, grill, table for two, outdoor swing, is just $359 + tax and $30.00 cleaning fee.  If you choose a chapel wedding, there is no extra charge for a private ceremony.

     In Gatlinburg, including up to 10 Guests, ceremony in our wedding loft with minister, taped wedding music,  and 20 photos.  $299  If you choose a chapel wedding, there is no extra charge for a private ceremony.

      Our wedding loft is located just off the Parkway behind Calhoun's Restaurant.  We are proud to offer ceremonies and receptions for larger wedding parties in the facilities nearby where there is plenty of parking for you and your Guests.  Weddings are performed most days of the week by reservation only.  To reserve your special package and time, please call 1-800-453-0557.

     We accept payment by credit card over telephone, so start packing!  Tennessee has no waiting period or blood tests, and your license may be purchased in any courthouse in Tennessee.  In Gatlinburg your license may be purchased at Gatlinburg Shilling Center on Reagan Drive. (865 430-3404).  Their hours are Monday and Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Wednesday -- 8:30 am to 12 Noon.  Saturday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  PLEASE NOTE:  Hours of license center may vary during holiday or special event periods.

     Marriage licenses are easy to obtain in Tennessee.  Simply appear in person at any County Clerk's office, or one of the Marriage License centers in Sevier County.  Both parties must be present in person.  Proof of age is required by a valid driver's license or, another state-issued I.D., a valid passport, or certified birth certificate.  You do not have to be a resident of Sevier County to get married here.  Remember, licenses are only valid within 30 days from issuance.  If applicants are under the age of 18, both parents or legal guardians must sign the marriage certificate.  Cost is $36, which must be presented only in cash in the exact amount.
